Too Cute w/The Robins Nest

Kathi here to share a simple yet elegant layout. I used paper from The Robin's Nest collection. I used "Valentine Stripe"paper & I flipped the paper to the solid side with the striped 11/2 inch boarder at the bottom of the page using the EK success punch .

"I'm So Glad My Heart Found You" Layout w/The Robin's Nest

Kathi here once again to share with you a double layout I created. Gina's Designs has paired up with The Robin's Nest and this is my second project using The Robin's Nest Paper line.

The paper I used was "Dark Distress Red", and "Classic Roses", from the Valentine Shape Set I used the lips & the fancy heart I added a string along heart to the left side of the photo mat and used two of the embellishment page by cutting out the fancy journaling spot. To the left side of the layout I placed a tall valentines card that was given to his wife. A few months after Feb 14 his life was cut short do to a freak accident while on vacation. The sentiment said "I'm so glad my heart found you" Love Cliff. I then framed the layout so she can hang it on her wall.

This is the second page of the layout. From the Robin's Nest I used the paper "Valentine Hearts" & "Classic Roses". The tag is from the embellishment page. From Gina's Store I used the Cupids from the "Cupid Shape Set". Both were painted with white gesso then stamped with Fire Brick Red Distress Ink using music notes. The love sign was also painted with white gesso. I placed a red piece of paper behind the sign & placed it on the tag.  The three hearts were prepared using embossing ink & Utee. The Utee is a mix of gold, silver, bronze & black. From the "Valentine Shape Set"The string along love is out of the "String Along - Hearts" painted red then white/clear glitter was added. I placed a 4 X 6 photo mat & a large wooden heat. The large heart was raised up using foam dots in order to get a photo behind. The red heat is removable to use to size the photo to slip behind the heart.

Dressform Wall Art

Kathi here today to share with you my dressform wall art project, this was so fun to create.

The picture frame was painted black, white then tan before I could make up my mind, The background paper is Tim Holtz Craft Resist.

Dressforms &Wings - The dressform & wings were placed on a steampunk doily. The dressform & wings were painted with white gesso then glue & seal was then applied to the dressform & wings.

Mini Dress forms

Kaiser Craft Dress form placed on a large lace trim decal

Cardstock Doily - Intricates with dressforms painted black with a trim waist band. 

Dress Form -

After this dressform was painted with black gesso the bottom of the 

dressform was rubbed with rub n buff - silver.

Cardstock Doily Set Intricates - A small doily was place in the upper left corner, a dress form was placed on the left side of the doily. The spool was wrapped with mauve floss & threaded through the needle. Silver rub in buff was used on the scissors & needle.

Corset - Corset was painted with black gesso, layered with black lace and trimmed 

with a black trim. Corset sets on a white cardstock Doily - Intricates 

Black Venues Lace, Mini Dressform & flowers wrapped with fiber trim.

Tim Holtz Sewing Die Cut, I cut 12-15 dressforms, cut off the stand then folded the dressform vertically & gluing sides together making a fan/honeycomb look. Then gluing them to a dressform with a stand to complete the look.

String Alongs - Sewing painted with black gesso & then trimmed the bottom with beaded trim & layered with a small black lace trim to finish the dressform off.

Love Canvas

Kathi here to share a 12 X 12 canvas using two papers from the Robin's Nest, a black & white zebra paper & a red paper with a raised velvet pattern. From Gina's store I used her Love Wall Art Kit. Hearts, key & lock from the Valentines Shape Set.

Hi Kathi here to share a 12 X 12 canvas layout using the paper line "Wild about you" from the Robins's Nest. From Gina's store "LOVE coasters" "Valentines Shape Set".

I painted the canvas with black gesso, after the canvas was dried I added the 

zebra paper from the Robin's nest.

I painted the corrugated squares with white gesso, alternating a white/tan look. Each of the 4 letters LOVE was prepared with black Utee. Each of the hearts, key & lock was painted with red paint. After the letters & the hearts were dried I layered them on the corrugated squares. The corrugated squares were then stacked on the largest square that was covered with the red velvet paper. I arranged them on the zebra paper placing a large white lace flower in the center.

I created this flower using a lace trim. With a bling center cluster.

Favorite Projects of 2013

Happy New Year, It is hard to believe that it is 2014. I enjoyed 2013 & all the projects I completed.
