Whimsical Carousel

Hi everyone, thanks for joining me today, I am sharing a fun whimsical project. I love to see the joy on the faces of children when they go to the fair or carnival, they love to ride the carousels, which are adorned in bright colors and large bling, which serve as an inspiration for my project.
I started this project by painting all of the laser chipboard with white gesso, then some of the chipboard was then painted with black gesso. The large spool was painted then with an ivory chalk paint. After the chipboard dried I then papered the large spool with the stripped paper & the diamond shape paper.

The diamond shape was cut into a 12 X 12 circle for the carousel top. I cut a 2 ½” strip X’s 2, joined the two strips to create the top sides of the carousel. After the strip was joined I then used two of Martha Stewart punches to put the finishing touches to the strip. I then added a vanilla strip between the two punched edges.  The strip was then added to the cone top, creating the carousel top. The top was then added to the top of the spool. On the side of the carousel top rep/pink bling was added a long with two rows of silver bling between the red/pink bling. Red bling along with silver bling round the bottom of the center column.

The tear drop trim was died using red alcohol ink, with the left over alcohol ink I place the 4 wooden discs into the container with the alcohol ink. The disc were placed pm the bottom of the spool to serve as feet for the carrousel. I sanded around the bottom of the spool, Then red tear drop trim was then glued around the base & then the ivory flat back pearl trim was then glued oved the tear drop trim.

The animals where prepped then painted with distress paint, brown, yellow, ivory & black. The horses one brown & one black, then saddles were added to each of the carrousel animals using distress stickles, glitter & glass beads.

this is so pretty

The purse was filled with goodies.

Enjoy the Journey

Hello fellow crafters, thanks for joining me today, Enjoy the journey, is a travel journal,  how I created this journal, I started by wrapping an existing front & back old journal with new paper, The paper I used is a travel paper I had in my stash, after wrapping the front and the back pages I cut the journal pages out of ivory card stock. I then layered travel paper on each page. I then used my zutter to create the holes & match then up to the recovered journal pages. I then took the chipboard pieces and took each one and painted them with white gesso, I then went over the chipboard pieces with ivory paint and I sprayed some of the pieces with different colored sprays. I used a scripted stamp on some of the chipboard pieces, the front pieces were painted black distress paint.

Sweet Summer Layout

Hi, thanks for stopping by to see the layout I have created for Gina’s today.
I am sharing some summer warmth, using the sweet summer shape
set I created this 12 X 12 layout.

The layout came together easily once I decided the color scheme I wanted to use.  I choose blues & greens, once the paper was chosen I began to layer the paper.
All the chipboard was painted with white gesso, once the gesso was dry I painted the chipboard pieces using distress paint by Tim Holtz. On the sweet summer title I use both white, blue & green distress paint, On the sun I used mustard seed distress paint going light in the center and darker on the ends of the sun rays to give it a contrast look.  On the Umbrella I used white, blue & green to create the defined look of the umbrella, using a dark brown fine line pen to separate the colors. On the Sandbox frame I painted the pail & shovel blue to match the large pail & shovel, then completing the frame with the green distress paint & flower stickers from the paper line. On the large pail & shovel I applied stickers from the paper line after the blue distress paint was dry.
After laying the paper I added the large sticker surf boards & the car, I then begin laying the chipboard over the layered paper.  Once they were all glued in place I arrange a flower arrangement just below the lower right side of the sandbox frame. The flowers & leaves are from KS4U. Some of the flowers were sprayed with Color Wash spray. The arrangement was then glued down with hot glue, I added another title to the bottom center from the paper line. I layered the title with scraps of paper from the paper line as well.
