Every Pictures Tells a Story

This is a 12 X 12” layout -  The base paper is by graphic 45  black with tan dots.  I created on the left side out of coordinating paper a border then I layered a corrugated strip on which I layered a laser chipboard. The corrugated strip was brushed with white gesso.

The laser chipboard (movie camera) was layer with a piece of the paper that was fussy cut around the chipboard. Parts of the movie camera was painted a combination of black & silver to creating an older look to the camera.

The film strip was painted black with red metallic leafing.   A rose was placed in the center of the filmstrip.

The rose was frosted on the tips using white gesso.

The Word & Phrase was painted with distress paint “antique linen”

Flourishes where cut from a die using the coordinating paper. The photo was mated with the coordinating paper. Intricate Dollies where cut in half and placed under the photo’s edge in two area’s.

Garden Tag

For this tag I used a large tag that I cut out a large tag, from a large accu-cut tag die. The tag was edged with gesseo then layered with graphic 45 "The Ladies Diary" paper. Products then layered starting the garden gate that was prepped with distress paint.

The garden window was prepped with gesso, distress paint  then covered with a clear distress glitter.

 .

Behind the layered ladies and the upper garden window intricate dollies were placed. Then flowers were added beneath the right garden window next to the slender pocket. Glossy accents was added to the top of the ladies which make them appear larger.

Behind on the right side of the main tag I place a large tree that was distressed with distressed paint.  A flower spray was placed behind the pocket in front of the tree.

Close up of slender pocket.

Back of the tag.

Seymour Bones Steampunk Hat

Hello, again, this is Kathi & I have another Halloween project to share with you. Seymour Bones is at it once again.

Hat, pre-shaped decoupage hat, the hat was painted with black gesso, after it was dried mod podge was used to adhere the steampunk spells “Mechanical Marvels” paper to the sides of the hat. On the top of the hat “Fanciful Floral” Steampunk spells was adhered. The last steam punk paper used is on the brim of the hat – “Clockworks”.

Black lace was adhered around the top rim of the hat & black & white polka dot ribbon was adhered on the bottom of the hat above the rim.    On top of the ribbon 1 ¼” wide flat bling was placed just leaving a hint that a ribbon is beneath the bling.

On the back of the hat a pair of large wings where attached
Wings where prepped by paining them with black gesso allowing them to dry before the spay adhesive was applied. Immediately burnt orange glitter was applied to both sides of the wings.

On top of the fabric a laser chipboard spider web & crow along with a die cut gear.  The spider web & crow where painted with distress paint, the gear was adhered to the back of the spider web.

The skull was also a hard decoupage skull. The technique I used was to use the scraps of steampunk paper and adhere the paper using mod podge in a random fashion.

After the skull was dry it was placed on the right upper ridge of the hat.

Next to the skull I placed a witches’ hat just to the side to the skull.
·        To the witches hat I cut scalloped circles placed one underneath the hat as a base and the second one I cut to cover the brim. The steampunk paper I used is “Beware”.
·        A set of gears were added to the front of the hat above the decorative foliage on the brim of the witches’ hat.

To the front of the large hat a large set of gears cut from the paper line was placed in the center, behind those gears a pair of smaller wings where added.

Laser Chipboard gears were randomly placed around the large gears.

Decorative foliage was added to the top of the hat from the middle to the back of the
hat in a random fashion. Black / silver spider web fabric was woven through the
base of the decorative foliage.

Seymour Bones was then added behind the large orange wings in a sitting
position, knees bent straddling the hat. Seymour Bones was off set to the left a
bit so he could be seen between the hat & the wings.

A one legged crow was placed on the brim of the hat on the right side.
