Sisters by chance, & friends by choice

Good Day to all.

Sisters by chance, & friends by choice.
Sisters Mixed Media Canvas

It was started with a 12 X 12 canvas
I painted the canvas with Gesso, sealing the canvas.
I added gesso to all of the elements, and all the flowers.
The elements consisted of resin bird bath,  bird, scroll piece, & window. The metal elements, consisted of a light bulb, two key plates (of different styles), two fancy metal hinges, a book plate, large key, drawer pull, pen nibs, and a Tim Holtz door knob, a conversational plate,  Last but not least two Graphic 45 metal butterflies. A large paper butterfly, and a small teacup & saucer.  I added a large decorative pocket watch, a metal butterflies, which were embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder.

To the painted canvas I added pieces of lace, trims, measuring tape, a textured mess - two different styles. I cut out the two individuals from the photo. Using Mod Podge I place the photos on the canvas then covered the photos with the Mod Podge.  By doing this it protects the photo from one of the last steps, spaying of the color sprays by Lindy Stamp Gang.

I placed the elements around the canvas using hot glue & or E6000. There is no rhyme or reason as to the placement of the elements, I just went by my feelings as where & when they were placed and if I liked them when I placed them. After placing the elements I then added the flowers,

After I was satisfied with the results, I used the Lindy’s Stamp Gang sprays. I used peachy pink, green & a light blue. I started with the lighter of the colors then moving on to the darker colors. This was a fun project to work on. I really like the tiny teacup & saucer I used between the sisters.

Thanks for visiting, please feel free to leave comments & or questions. Have a fantastic day.

20 X 20 LOVE Canvas

20 X 20 inch LOVE canvas
Details :I started out with a 20 x 20" painter’s canvas.  I covered the canvas with the Prima “Nature Garden” paper collection. I used the A4 paper stack.  I placed the paper all over the project using a mod podge.   Once the canvas dried gesso was used on the sides of the canvas as well as in area’s throughout the canvas. Lace was added to the right-hand side of the canvas then adding some round letter tokens to the lower part of the lace in the corner of the canvas . A honeycomb mask with modeling paste was added to the lower r.  I added to the canvas several of Gina’s laser cut chipboards by Gina’s Designs. The ones I used was an old tricyle/bicycle on the lower right-hand corner and then I added two filmstrips and to that I also added to larger flourishes, butterflies from the butterfly and dragonfly collection and on butterflies I used gesso as well as distressed paint from Tim Holtz in a variety of  colors.   The color I ended up using on this project were vintage photo , broken China , Victorian velvet, picket fence, weathered wood, antique linen and bundled sage. Using these colors on the butterfly’s in a combination of those colors to convey and to  give a variety to the butterfly. The bird cages are from Gina’s collection “Ornamental  bird cages”  I  added four bird cages  to hold the letters  LOVE placing one on each of the  bird cages.  Each letter was covered with the paper line. Each of the bird cages where painted with a paint Dauber “Gold” I cut out two hot air balloons out of the paper line over chipboard. I decorated each of the two balloons with trim & bling to make the balloons unique in their own way.
Then the baskets of both balloons were made out of a paper that has a basket weaved looks to it.  On the balloons I used the patterned paper. I used laces & trims on both of them.  Next to the balloon I placed delicate doilies from Gina’s designs.  I painted two of them with the bundled sage distressed paint the others that are on the canvas I left white and then I added a picture frames under next to the large balloons painted it with the bundled sage.  I added large flowers, the white ones are a shabby chic flower that I handmade. Placing a large white button turned.  The rest of the flowers are from Michael's. I then added three stick pens, a Tim Holtz glass figurine and then added wings from Gina’s Designs. I added two metal flowers to the upper right-hand corner I got both of those from craft warehouse and what I added to the flowers was a Shimmerz paint.
I added photos to the filmstrips.

Mini Book Display Case

I had fun making these mini albums using the hidden hinge technique, I use coin envelops, and created photo mats for the coin envelopes.  I use graphic 45 papers, recollection bling, & made a handmade flower. for the top. I used graphic 45 brads on the ends of the mini books to make it easier to retrieve the mini books from the case.  I use a large brad on the drawer to make it easier to open the drawer.

Teapot video

This is the video for the teapot mini

Secret Garden Teapot Mini Album

This is my first project for May 2013

For years I have enjoyed attending Tea Time, Victoria British Columbia was one of my favorites, I would do this past time 3- to 4 times a year with my older sister. We would have so much fun. Spending the night in the city of choice, shopping, visiting antique stores, dressing up for tea time, taking in a play of some type. Once we seen Peter Pan & Little Si-gone   A fun way to enjoy the company of your best friend and sister.  Making this album reminded me of all the fun we would have. having tea, eating scones, fruit and finger sandwiches and not to mention all those desserts..
